The New Year will be here is 11 hours and I can't wait for this suck-y year to be over. As in every year there where high points but with this year came several low points.
Just to list a few:
1) Moving
2) Having to change my phone number 3 times
3) Starting over by getting my permit again the day I turned 16
4) I have had more writer's block this year then I have at any other point in the 5 years I've been writing
But there of course where high points. Some of which were:
1) Bree, my first friend in Olney
2) Mariah, the girl that I click with more then anyone in Olney
3) Moving weeded out the friends who never really cared about me and left me with the ones who did.
4) I reached 24,000 words in my novel in 2 months in spite of all the writer's block
So those are some of the ups and downs of my year. So I guess You could say yes this year has been horrible but it has also been wonderful in it's own twisted way.
Many people this time of the year are making their New Year Resolution. I have always thought that it was a silly thing to do since no one I know ever actually met any of the goals they set.
I have set several in the past for myself but I never actually met any of them either. Usually mine are along the line so lose X amount of weight or organize this. One year I wanted to organize my books by author but I organized them by height instead.
This year however I plan on making a few that I plan on keeping and most of them relate to my writing. Since this is a blog about my writing I figure I could share them here.
Without further ado, my New Years Resolutions:
1) Finish writing my current Novel
2) Finish First edit and revision of said Novel
3) Start forming newest idea
4) Start writing new idea
5) Pass all senior classes including all the honor classes
So there you have it my plan for 2011. I hope it is better then this year.

The Vaccum
Okay so Today I have been trying to write a very important moment in my book. However I have no idea how to write it. I can see it all so clearly in my head but when I try to get it all out on the computer it just never sounds right. I think I have written it about 3 times and it's still not right.
So basically I have her in the place and the moment she needs to be in but it's like someone sent a vacuum in my head and sucked out all the words that I needed to finish that part of the story. I hate that part of this it just won't come out.
This will probably be what I will be working on all night. So if I'm on Facebook at 3 in the morning than I'm still working on that part of the story. So I have alot more work to do than I anticipated.

Break Day
So writing isn't going well for today. Not because I don't want to write or that I don't know what to write it's my new computers fault. I hadn't gotten the product key for my Microsoft word product key put into this computer yet so it won't let me write now.
So today has been a day for a break. Chris and I rented 3 movies, Knight and Day (Both agreed on), Salt (his choice), and How To Train Your Dragon (My choice). Right now I'm watching Knight and Day. It's really good and I like it.
So I'm gonna go back to watching it.

A day for writing
So today I have been doing some writing. it hasn't been much but it was something more then I have gotten done in the last couple of days. I have been trying to work on the plot and outline for a new idea that has stuck with me in the last week. So between working on the plot and trying to figure out how to finish my nano-novel I don't have a lot of free time.
However I've been trying to narrow down which books I want to get the most from my book list however I've only officially decided on one and that is Fang by James Patterson, one of my favorite authors.
But back to my writing. So far my novel is up to 23,703 words so far. My minimal goal is 40k so I have a was to go but I plan on making it there before I start working on a new story. I want to be able to finish at least one book. So that I know that I can do it.
From there I can work on the novel that I think very well could be the novel that gets me published.
So that novel will be my secret novel until I get at least half way into it.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everybody. Today is Christmas day but I have nothing going on right now and I hadn't posted anything in several days so I figured it couldn't hurt to post one now.
So since this is Christmas I guess I could tell you what I got to start with. So I got a new 10 inch Acer aspire one laptop which I am using right now. I also got a new digital camera which I plan on putting to good use in the coming weeks and months. I also got a 20 dollar gift card to Barnes and Noble (only problem is, the total comes up to $75.50 with all the books I want to get. I may be starting a wish list soon).
As for my writing book I have actually been writing in my book. I am super excited about this fact since I am actually getting the writing work and the first round of editing done at the same time. We are going to be taking a 3 hour drive home today and with this computer having the battery life it has I could very will get alot of work done.
Well Merry Christmas people.

Editing
So I started editing the beginning of my book and I must say it's off to a good start. However all of my pages now look like a 2 year old colored on them in a red crayon.
I started editing the book yesterday and I have already finished the first round of editing for chapters 1 and 2. Granted they are the shortest chapters in the book but they mostly just build a relationship between the two lead characters.
Today is cleaning day so I won't have much time to write or edit and tomorrow we are going on an intercity mission trip. So I'm not sure when the next time I'll actually be about to work on my writing is. Maybe on the drive to Bloomington on Thursday.

Distractions
So in order for me to keep up this blog about my writing I actually have to be writing. There in lies the problem. I haven't written anything in at least four days and with Christmas being this week it doesn't look like I will be doing much writing anyway.
My novel is only at 22,000 words. Barley making a blip on the novel writing radar. Most first novels are 80,000 words at least and it took me a month just to break 20,000 before an in shakable wave of Writer's Block consumed me.
As usually happens when I get Writer's Block I had a new story idea. Normally I would pursue the new idea and leave the original in the dust however I wanted to finish my novel and with some pressing from certain people I didn't pursue the story and the idea is sitting in an unnamed file somewhere in the depths of my computer.
Now I have reached a point were I have no desire to write at all. This happens to me allot and normally I would just go with it and eventually come back to writing in a few weeks.
However I want to finish this story. I don't like it at all but I want to know what it is like to actually finish. I want to go through the editing proses, and the revisions, and all the other steps that make the novel that you get at the stores.
I don't know if this novel specifically will ever be published but if I can at least finish it then I will know that I can. Maybe that's all I really need to start with.

The Impossible Novel, The Impossible Dream
Yesterday being Sunday my family did what was always do, we went to church. Being that it is almost Christmas the message was on the Christmas story. The main focus was the fact that Jesus and John the Baptist were miracle babies.
It was mentioned that Elizabeth, John's mother, was well up in her years. Past her child bearing years but she and her husband had been praying for a baby. Basically it was impossible for Elizabeth to have a baby and yet she did.
This led into talking about how our dreams may seem impossible but that is wrong, they are very possible. Our Pastor told everyone to think of a dream that you think is impossible or something that you would like to happen in your life.
Of course the first thing I thought of was my writing and how the two things I want the most for it and me are first just to be published. Being Published would be the most amazing thing to me. But the second thing I would love to achieve with my writing is to make the NYT bestsellers list.
Making the NYT bestsellers list has to be the most impossible dream out of the two. However now I know that if I pray for it and work hard towards it I can do it.
Now I just have to focus on it.

And the journey begins
Seeing as how this is my first blog post I figure I should tell those of you who have stumbled upon this blog somethings about me.
Just to begin I am only 16 but I have grown up faster then anyone else I know. Sometimes this makes my life very hard but in other cases this makes my life a little easier.
I have seen so many people older then myself falling apart because they didn't know how to handle the situation they where in. Even when I was little I knew I didn't want that to someday be me. I didn't want to have my life falling apart and have no idea what I could do about it. So my solution was to grow up, probably faster then I really should have.
I think that this is why so may of the characters in my books, even the adults, have a child like tendency to them. I truly believe that I am using my characters to live out the moments of childhood that I have already missed out on.
Now if you where confused by my above musings I would expect as much. After all I didn't plan on saying any of that. However now that it is out there and written I see no point in erasing it... and so we press on.
I am also a young writer. I love writing for reasons that have yet to be explained but I take it in stride and am putting it to good use. At the moment I am working on completing the writing of my first full novel.
I say full novel because I have written several short stories that I called novels that i now see are in no way real novels. However this novel I am currently working on is already over 20,000 words. Making it the largest collection of words I have written in the five years since I first started writing.
I started this blog for the purpose of keeping myself motivated in terms of writing and based off this first post it may also be a journal of sorts. I guess I am now putting my life out there for everyone to see.
I am officially an open book...
